After 74 day struggle Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa passed away at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. 

The 68-year old leader was the head of AIADMK was re-elected to power in May earlier this year. 

She was suffering from septecemia and suffered a major cardiac arrest following which she was placed under Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation life support. 

She passed at 11:30 PM on 5th December 2014
