FORMED IN 2006
HEADQUARTERS : NDRF HQ, ANTODAYA BHAWAN, NEW DELHI
PARENT MINISTRY : MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS
Composition: 12 battalions where three belong to BSF, three to CRPF, two to CISF, two ITBP and two of Sashastra Seema Bal. each battalion has a strength of approximately 1,149 men. Each battalion also has specialist from various backgrougs such as engineers, technicians, electricians, dog squads and medical/paramedics.
