Actor Kangana Ranaut went all guns blazing & took on the current Maharashtra government comprising of Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party & Congress in a series of tweets on September 4th.
The controversy unravelled after Kangana Ranaut hit out at the Mumbai police, saying she was ‘scared of Mumbai police more than the movie mafia goons’ and demanded security from either Himachal police or the Centre as she vowed to the expose the Bollywood-Drug mafia nexus.
Thank you for your concern sir, I am actually more scared of Mumbai police now than movie mafia goons, in Mumbai I would need security either from HP government or directly from the Centre, No Mumbai police please 🙏 https://t.co/cXEcn8RrdV— Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) August 30, 2020
Soon Sanjay Raut hit back saying, Kangana should approach the police with evidence and prove that he threatened her rather than ‘playing on Twitter’.
He also wrote in the Sena mouthpiece Saamana, ‘We kindly request her not to come to Mumbai. This is nothing but an insult to Mumbai Police. The Home Ministry should take action over it.’
On Thursday, Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter and accused Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut of threatening her openly and asking her not to return to Mumbai.
Kangana has no right to stay in Mumbai, we will make sure she can’t enter Mumbai, we will beat her to death with stones and rods just how we lynched Palghar Sadhus. How you promoted yourself from POK to Taliban just in one day is commendable 👌 https://t.co/Cl7q8p1e3V— Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) September 4, 2020
On Friday, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh hit out at the movie star after she triggered outrage for saying Mumbai ‘felt like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’ and also compared the ruling coalition to ‘Taliban’.
We have seen how the Mumbai Police sacrificed their lives during the coronavirus pandemic. It’s not right for an actor to say such things about our police, we condemn it. Mumbai and Maharashtra are secured by the police. If anyone feels unsafe about living in Mumbai or Maharashtra, they don’t have the right to live hereAnil Deshmukh, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister
Her latest comments about Pakistan-occupied Kashmir seems to have irked many celebrities and public figures who took to Twitter to express their disapproval.
मुंबई हिंदुस्तान है।— Riteish Deshmukh (@Riteishd) September 3, 2020
The Maharashtra BJP too hit out at the actor over her comments.
Kangana should not try to teach Mumbai, Mumbaikars and Maharashtra. Sanjay Raut should not attack us through Kangana Ranaut. BJP has nothing to do with KanganaAshish Shelar, BJP MLA
Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has been the national talking points for days on end. Many have been rooting for the late actor & have slammed Maharashtra government over the alleged police inaction in the SSR death case.
From the suspected drugs cartel link to allegations of Sushant’s murder. But now things have taken a political turn albeit thanks to Kangana’s politically loaded comments.
