The Union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Modi approved the National Health Policy 2017 (NHP 2017). The last health policy was formulated in the year 2002, changing healthcare needs and socio economic changes necessitated a fresh policy.

The policy mainly focuses on preventive healthcare and also advocates universal access to quality healthcare at affordable costs.

Parking Charges at Airports suspended

Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India has decided to suspend the collection of parking charges levied at all the airports till the midnight of 21 November 2016.

“This has been done in order to facilitate the smooth movement of passengers,”   the ministry said in a statement issued to the press.

It may be noted that earlier today the government had extended the suspension of the fee collection at all the toll plazas on National Highways till November 18.

Indian Railways has assured that it will accept the demonetised currency notes with respect to payments for ticketing and catering purposes until the 24 November 2016.


India Vs England: Virat steers India to a draw

India managed a hard-fought draw after England threaten to bowl them out in the last session. India finished the last day of the second innings with the scores of 172/6.

England had their chances in this match. Adil Rashid put them in a winning position by picking wickets in the fourth innings. But Virat with his unbeaten 49 made sure to take India to a draw.

The English team has a lot of positives to take away from this Test. For India, it will be high time to go back to the drawing board. The two teams will now travel to Vizag to play the second test match that begins on  November 17. The pitch at Vizag  has always  been a delight for spinners.


Hillary blames FBI chief’s letters for her loss

Hillary Clinton claimed that the two letters from James Comey , the head of Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI)  to members of Congress in the run-up to the presidential election, led to her loss in the last week.

Hillary made the statement on Saturday during a conference which consisted of donors who had contributed $1,00,000 or more towards her election campaign.

She said she was confident on winning the election until the FBI chief’s letters turned the direction of the campaign.

Meanwhile, few opinion polls had suggested that neither the FBI letters nor the taped conversations featuring Mr Trump bantering about his controversial behaviour with women made much impact on the voters’ preferences which were decided much earlier in large part.

Daily ATM Cash Withdrawal limits increased to INR 2500

Indian Finance Ministry has increased the cash withdrawal limit from INR 2000 to INR 2500.

Daily exchange limits have been increased to INR 4,500 from the previous limit of INR 4,000.
